Why chemicals get their own lines
Two reasons. The first is disputes: an owner who can see that the pool took three jugs of chlorine in a hot week understands why August costs more than May. The second is your own margin — chemicals buried in a flat rate are invisible when your supplier raises prices, and you will absorb the increase for a season without noticing.
What to put on it
- The number of visits, not just the month — proof of service is the whole product.
- Chemicals by product and quantity, priced at your cost plus handling.
- Anything outside the agreement, labelled as such, with the contract clause it falls under.
- Payment terms and the date they run from, on every invoice, every month.
